We are looking for a highly technical and detail-oriented Solar MEP Engineer to lead the optimization of construction-ready solar designs. This role will focus on transforming high-level solution designs into cost-effective, executable plans by refining the Bill of Quantities (BOQ), ensuring technical rigor, and managing external subcontractors. You will also be responsible for incorporating real-world construction cost data and implementation outcomes to continuously improve system design and budget accuracy.
Key Responsibilities:MEP & BOQ Optimization Review and interpret system designs from the solution design team, focusing on MEP integrity (cable routing, grounding, conduit sizing, equipment layout, etc.). Optimize the BOQ to ensure cost-effective yet technically sound construction. Refine material lists, cable sizing, structure layouts, and protection systems for budget and performance efficiency. Construction Design Finalization Develop detailed construction drawings and technical implementation documents. Ensure constructability of design within real-world site conditions and budget constraints. Work closely with procurement and construction teams to ensure alignment with field execution. Subcontractor Coordination Manage and coordinate subcontractors involved in detailed design work or construction execution. Validate subcontractor deliverables and ensure compliance with quality, safety, and timeline expectations. Feedback Integration & Continuous Improvement Analyze actual construction data including material usage, labor effort, and final costs. Adjust design processes, BOQ buffer/spare percentages, and cost estimation methodology based on implementation learnings. Lead technical design improvement workshops post-project completion.
